Does it cost me any extra to shop at Donation Trackers?
No. We don’t charge anything. Nor does the store you shop at. You pay the same price you would normally pay when shopping at a store. But by shopping at Donation Trackers, the store you shop at pays us a commission, which we then donate 50% of to charity.
How do I know you're actually giving to Charity?
Donation Trackers has The Transparency Box which lists every single transaction that takes place. Every commission statement, every merchandise purchase, and every direct donation is logged in The Box and the running total is updated.
Additionally, the Charity’s bank account balance and merchant account screenshots are provided so that the The Box’s balance can be verified.
Why does it take so long for stores to pay the commission?
There is a lag time of about 4 months from the time you make your purchase to the time that the store will payout the commission to Donation Trackers. This is due in large part to a store’s product return policy. Stores will wait until the return policy expires before considering the sale final. Once final, it will pay out the commission to us for sending you to their store.
How is money disbursed from the Charity's account?
Monies will only leave the charity’s account by paper check. This makes it easy to keep track of outbound funds, providing another layer of transparency for our donors. Supporting information is linked to the transaction logged in The Transparency Box. Also, announcements will be made and posted to our site before a check is sent out and also when it arrives to the recipient(s). Citizens For Cops 501(c)(3) requests from the jurisdiction where the Line Of Duty Death occurred that they would hand deliver the check to the surviving family and post it to their website.
